SCOPE OF SERVICES

1. Define and implements the library's strategic direction in support of the college vision and mission.
2. Coordinate the operations for the library in support of teaching, learning, and research within the College community.
3. Leadership and direction of the library, its operations and personnel.
4. Development of Library Policies and Procedures.
5. Service to the information and research needs of all bonafide students, faculty, staff and administrators of DCSLC-CGH. Services shall also be catered to qualified users from outside of the institution.
6. Access Services wherein the library shall provide equitable and efficient access to library resources, facilities and services. Covering a wide range of operations, the department oversees the physical management of the circulating collection, current periodicals, and media materials. Related services are offered that provide local and global access to information in support of research, scholarly activity, and lifelong learning. Friendly and courteous staff are available anytime the library is open to answer questions assist with locating materials.
7. Collection development shall be a major scope of the service as it concerns the selection and acquisition of appropriate materials to cater to the needs of the College community.
 

GOAL

The primary goal of the Library is to participate effectively in the school programs as it strives to meet the needs of students, faculty, parents and other community members by providing higher quality services through library materials and services most appropriate and most meaningful in their growth and development as individual

 

OBJECTIVES

1. To acquire and preserve library materials and resources for the benefit of each students, faculty and special patrons.
2. To provide infirmation, reference and research resources to the school community , and inforamtion needs of the specials patrons/clienteles
3. To promote excellence in education through providing necessary research materials to prospective library users.
4. To continuously acquire key research materials for current and future library users.
5. To serve all the students, faculties, staff and administrators of the college and other individuals who may use the library. 6. To strive consistently to discover new methods and improvements for better service to library users.
